Nameri National Park season by season
Winter December to February Prime time
Nov-Feb is prime: 8 C dawns, a rafting drift down the Jia Bhoroli and a real shot at the white-winged wood duck.
Summer March to May Prime time
March still walks well, but the park closes through May and the foothills turn hot, wet and thick with leeches.
Monsoon June to September Do not go
Jun-Sep the Jia Bhoroli is in spate, the park is shut and stretches of the Tezpur-Bhalukpong road go under water.
Autumn October to November Prime time
October is a gamble because gates open only late in the month and the grass is still too tall to see through.
